Last year, ACF took the federal government to court to challenge approval of Adani’s giant Carmichael coal mine in Queensland. The verdict is in.

The court has found that under our current laws, Minister’s Hunt’s approval of Adani’s Carmichael coal mine stands up.

It’s madness that the government can legally approve the biggest coal mine in the Southern Hemisphere when pollution is killing our reef.

If we don’t cut pollution, the Great Barrier Reef could be gone in just a few decades.

The outcome of this court case is critically important. It proves we need a new generation of environment laws.

We won’t give up until this mine is stopped once and for all and we have strong new laws that properly protect the places we love.  

We’re bringing of hundreds of people together at this critical moment, to send our new government, a strong message – Australians want you to reject this mine and create strong new laws to protect our reef.
